Football Shaped Cupcakes

This recipe for football-shaped cupcakes is a good recipe to keep in your repertoire for Super Bowl parties, high school football rallies, and even Pop Warner football team parties. All you need are a few basic cupcake ingredients and a steady hand. Here's how to make your own football cupcakes:

Bake the cupcakes according to the package directions. Once they are done baking and have cooled, carefully peel off the baking cups. Use a very sharp knife to cut your cupcakes into (oval) football shapes. Dust off any crumbs with a pastry brush, then frost them with the chocolate frosting.

Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave, then spoon them into a ziplock bag. Cut a small hole in the corner of the bag. Carefully pipe the white icing onto the football-shaped cupcake to make it look like football laces.

Note: if you don't want to do all that cutting and shaping of the cupcakes, simply decorate regular cupakes with green frosting or green sprinkles to resemble artificial turf, then place a candy football on top. Trust us, your guests will love this sweet dessert no matter what it looks like!
